This award is open to both those who have already signed up to the Hoteliers Charter and those who are inspired by its principles. You can view the Charter here. This award recognises a team or individual who has done most to promote and meet the Charter’s commitments. Judges will be looking for evidence that the aims and objectives of the Charter have been championed and the business impacts this has had overall.

A challenge for every business, this award is for organisations that are getting it right when it comes to internal communication. The judges would like to see a strategic and comprehensive approach to ensuring people have access to clear and timely information and are involved in the decisions that affect them.

Cheval Collection
This award is for organisations who have taken their status as a great place to work and expressed that externally in a unique way to attract new talent into their business. This could be a campaign that is consistent with the values that are living and breathing in the business, or something that hasn’t been tried before and is generating great results. Judges are looking for inspiring and exciting examples that fit with the culture of the business and are authentic to the reality behind closed doors.

This award is for organisations that have a commitment to ensuring the needs of every individual are genuinely respected and accommodated. Looking for a comprehensive approach rather than ‘tick-box’ initiatives, judges will want to understand how every individual can feel confident about being their authentic selves at work, where people can thrive together in safe and nurturing environments.

KERB
This award is open to a person working in or outside the HR function in hospitality who has gone above and beyond to champion employee engagement, retention, progression and/or employee wellbeing. This could involve, for example, anticipating and fulfilling employee needs, supporting colleagues or working with the local community.
Craig Prentice
This award is for organisations where developing supervisory, management and leadership capabilities is part of the DNA of the organisation. The judges are looking for organisations who are developing leaders at all levels that are trusted, empowered and enabled, and how this development is achieved. Far beyond a training award, this is for those that believe development happens both on and off the job, in a variety of formats.
Heartwood Collection
There are no formal criteria for this award. This award will go to someone who the judges feel have had an ongoing and significant impact on both their own business and the wider hospitality industry through their enlightened attitude to people engagement and retention. They will command respect from their peers and colleagues alike and will have made a demonstrable impact.
Sean Wheeler
This is an award to recognise how supply partners support organisations in hospitality to achieve results in any area of the people function. Judges are looking for innovative solutions, expertise and strong relationships demonstrating how you help with specific or ongoing projects to help with employee attraction, development, retention and/or engagement.
Red Carnation Hotels
This award is for an operational team who demonstrates true commitment to employee engagement. Judges are looking for a team that embraces the culture of the organisation, collaborates with the people team and sets an example to the rest of the business when it comes to great people practices.
